| Tigers Subdue Georgia, 2-1 | The Missouri Tigers got a stellar effort from pitcher James Sirico, helping Missouri score a 2-1 win over the visiting Georgia Bulldogs. Evan Sheldon finished the game for Missouri and earned his 16th save. The first-place Tigers have a one-game lead in their division.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder John Wood. For the game, Wood was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Missouri a 2-0 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Sirico said after the game.
