| Jayhawks Stun Commodores, 11-10 | Vanderbilt right fielder Kevin Stafford was sensational. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Kansas beat the Commodores, 11-10. Stafford was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Kansas reliever Kasey O'Connell, now 4-2. The loser was Justin Link. Josh Erhardt sewed up the save, his 7th.
Eric Main had a nice at-bat for the Jayhawks with two out in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the shortstop drew a walk, which would prove important in the Kansas win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Main.
With the victory, the Jayhawks record now stands at 17-18.
