| Tigers Turn Back Tennessee, 5-4 | Fans who gathered at Magistrates Ballpark saw a good contest between the Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers.
Clemson Tigers starter Ian Barnes was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Tennessee Volunteers, 5-4. The winner was Clemson reliever Nate Stewart, now 1-1. The loser was David McKeever. Ben Satterfield finished the game for Clemson and earned his 3rd save.
Joe Micks drew 2 walks for Clemson. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Rich Gilliland. It was his 7th walk of the season.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Tennessee manager Álex Negrón. "But we decided not to take it."
With the victory, the Tigers record now stands at 13-22.
