| Reese Goes Wild, But Bruins Win | UCLA and Mississippi State duked it out at Crowley College Grounds and the Bruins came out victorious.
The UCLA Bruins defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 8-6. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Caleb Reese, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The save was Bob Bradley's, his 9th.
Had Nick Schindler not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Schindler hit a grand slam. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Bruins.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Schindler.
At 16-17, UCLA is in 16th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
