| Commodores Bridle Bulldogs, 4-3 | Fans who came to Field of the Plunder watched the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Georgia Bulldogs fight to the finish.
The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Elijah Jay, who was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Vanderbilt reliever Dan Costello picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Josh Andrews was collared with the loss.
Kevin Stafford helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Vanderbilt a 2-0 lead.
"I like what I saw today," said Vanderbilt manager Laurent Dupuis, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Commodores' win now puts them at 15-17.
