| Tigers Come Back Late to Clip Cardinals | Stanford left fielder Mike Neill had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Neill was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as LSU beat the Cardinals, 6-4. Neill was named the player of the game despite the loss. Casey Baker got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. LSU now has a 3-game win streak.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Xavier Wright. For the game, Wright was 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave LSU a 5-4 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Wright.
