| Koran, Cougars Too Much for Trojans | The Houston Cougars topped the USC Trojans, 9-5, with youngster Sam Koran playing a key role. Koran went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Cougars in the win. Houston now sits in 16th place in the Cliff Gustafson at 15-17.
Houston grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Koran hit a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Cougars out in front, 5-2.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jeffrey Coffman said.
