| Tigers Lose, 9-7, at Gremlins Ballpark | The Miami Hurricanes topped the Auburn Tigers, 9-7, with youngster Joe Pyke playing a key role. Pyke went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Hurricanes in the win. Kyle Corbitt got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 2.2 innings. Picking up the save was Jesse Jensen, his 9th.
Pyke had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Jim Burnell, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Hurricanes a 9-7 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Pyke.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Orlando Durango said.
The Hurricanes bumped their record to 16-16 with this latest triumph.
