| Green Wave Edge Owls, 9-8 | Steve Sanders did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Rice Owls from losing, 9-8, to the Tulane Green Wave at Berthoud College Grounds. Sanders went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Justin Tucke picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Daniel Cashier was tagged with the loss. The Owls, now 17-14, have lost 4 straight.
The Green Wave were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Chris Taylor turned a first pitch fastball from Daniel Cashier into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Tulane a thrilling 9-8 win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Tulane manager Jonathan Ross.
