| Tigers Stymie Wake Forest, Take 4-1 Win | Auburn third baseman Ron Barrow was instrumental in his team's 4-1 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacans. Barrow, who is tied for 10th in the SBL in total bases with 77, went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tigers. Auburn reliever Matt Hardy was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Jim Welch took the loss. The Tigers raised their record to 18-13.
Rich Carruth aided the Auburn cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Wake Forest skipper Gilberto Morales, "and it cost us."
