| Salukis Scratch and Claw to 7-1 Win | South Illinois used a superb performance from starting pitcher Troy Turner to down the Clemson Tigers, 7-1. Jessie McKeown picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Ben Satterfield was tagged with the loss. Clemson has now lost 5 consecutive games.
The Salukis got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Matthew Seifert. For the game, Seifert went 1 for 1. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 6th hit of the season gave South Illinois a 2-1 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said South Illinois manager Justin Page.
