| Rebels Win at Oregon, 8-1 | In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Ole Miss Rebels starter Brad Hawes was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Oregon Ducks, 8-1. Hawes, now 1-4, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.
John Mastin drove in one run for Ole Miss. The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Aaron Bailey. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Mastin.
Even with the win, the Rebels have a dismal 10-20 record.
