Davis Powers Tigers to 11-7 Win

The Auburn Tigers topped the South Illinois Salukis, 11-7, with shortstop Matt Davis playing a big role. Davis was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Tigers in the win. Getting the save was Jim Burnell, his 1st. The Tigers bumped their record to 17-13 with this latest triumph.

Auburn took a 9-4 lead on Davis's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Ernie Raggio in the top of the sixth, propelled Auburn to the win.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Davis. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
