| Hornets Get Road Win, 6-3 | Eureka and Cabo San Lucas duked it out at Field de Los Layendas and the Hornets came out victorious.
The Eureka Hornets overcame a good performance by Cabo San Lucas designated hitter Toshimitsu Epps to knock off Cabo San Lucas, 6-3, at Field de Los Layendas. Epps was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Eureka reliever Julio Uribe picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Ryan Goldberg was collared with the loss. Yoshiki Sato, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from designated hitter Carlos Minchala. For the game, Minchala went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Eureka a 6-3 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Minchala said after the game.
Eureka has a 4-game win streak, while Cabo San Lucas has lost 3 in a row.
