| Crimson Tide Turn Back Clemson, 3-2 | Alabama and Clemson took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Alabama Crimson Tide did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Clemson Tigers at Magistrates Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Dave Frasier, who captured player of the game honors. David Kress got the save, the 6th for him this season.
John Funston, who is tied for 5th in the SBL in triples with 2, aided the Alabama cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Alabama skipper Gene Beatty.
Even with the win, the Crimson Tide have a dismal 10-19 record.
