Tigers Raise Rally Flag, Beat USC, 6-3
LSU starter Ernie Cook pitched effectively against the USC Trojans at South Paris College Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. LSU reliever Dale Fredericks got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Rick Valcour was tagged with the loss. The Tigers are now 10-18, while the Trojans fall to 13-15.

Chris Castro drove in one run for LSU. The 18-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Rick Valcour. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
