Sun Devils Prevail, 2-1, Over Arizona

The Arizona State Sun Devils did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Wildcats at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College. Nobody did more than pitcher Brad Seibel, who captured player of the game honors. Jonathan Rice earned his 5th save in 6 tries. The Wildcats, at 13-15, have lost 4 straight games.

The Sun Devils got a big at-bat from third baseman Nate Gruber. For the game, Gruber went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Arizona State a 2-0 lead.
