Hurricanes Continue Skid Thanks to Shepherd, Cowboys

The Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Miami Hurricanes, 5-1, at Gremlins Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Oklahoma State was third baseman Mark Shepherd. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Greg Hughes got the win, improving to 3-3. He worked 6 innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Hurricanes, at 13-15, have lost 4 straight games.

Shepherd had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Cowboys went on to win.
