| Ducks Edge Past 49'ers, 6-5 | The Long Beach State 49'ers got a superb performance from first baseman Jake Brozek. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Oregon. The Ducks won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Brozek was named the player of the game. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Oregon reliever Mitch Sheets picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Card absorbed the loss. Mitchell McDuffie earned the save for Oregon, his 11th.
The Ducks got a big at-bat from right fielder Asa Carr. For the game, Carr was 1-4 with a double and a walk. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Oregon a 6-5 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Carr said.
With the win, Oregon goes to 16-11, while the 49'ers fall to 14-13.
