| Bruins Lose 7-3 Decision to Owls | The Rice Owls defeated the UCLA Bruins, 7-3, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Ballpark of Shiprock College, with Rice pitcher I-po Liu named player of the game. Daniel Cashier earned the save, his 10th, for the Owls. The Owls bumped their record to 17-10 with this latest triumph.
Bob Slade, who is tied for 4th in the RDL in triples with 2, aided the Rice cause with a run-scoring triple in the top of the second. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Liu.
