| Green Wave Edge Past Cardinals, 6-5 | The Tulane Green Wave beat the Stanford Cardinals, 6-5, at Berthoud College Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Tim Maki, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tulane reliever Jordan Rosales picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Billy Taylor absorbed the loss. The Green Wave bumped their record to 17-10 with this latest triumph.
Tulane won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Billy Taylor on the mound for Stanford, catcher Tony Soulia hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Green Wave fans to their feet.
"It was a solid team effort," said Maki after the game.
