| Bulldogs Score Late, Top Wildcats, 7-3 | The Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Arizona Wildcats, 7-3, at Red Wings Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Cody Neumann, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Travis Reeves earned the save, his 7th, for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs bumped their record to 14-13 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when designated hitter Tommie Lichte drew a walk. The Bulldogs went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Neumann after the game.
