| Oklahoma State Wins, Rodger goes 3-for-4 | The Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the Wake Forest Demon Deacans, 13-8, at Canaries Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Justin Rodger, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Oklahoma State reliever Amir Outland picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Aaron Wood absorbed the loss. Bobby Houston earned the save, his 1st, for the Cowboys.
Rodger had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Steve Gaynor, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Cowboys a 12-8 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Rodger.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Rodger told the Oklahoma State Daily. "Whatever it takes."
The Cowboys bumped their record to 16-11 with this latest triumph.
