| Tigers Lose 6-5 Decision to Gators | The Florida Gators beat the Auburn Tigers, 6-5, at Zodiac Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Taylor Hillary, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Doug Schuder earned the save, his 2nd, for the Gators. The Gators bumped their record to 16-11 with this latest triumph.
Joey Eaton drove in one run for Florida. The 19-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off David Simpson. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"We found a way to get it done," Hillary said.
