| Golden Bears Walk Off with Win | The Golden Bears had to overcome a fine performance from Long Beach State pitcher Marc Dile to grab a 5-4 win at Prisoners Ballpark. Dile allowed no earned runs over 6 innings. California reliever Kevin Hope picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Bill Card was collared with the loss. California now has a 3-game win streak.
California won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Bill Card on the mound for Long Beach State, shortstop Jim Rack hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Golden Bears fans to their feet.
In postgame remarks, Rack simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
