| Tigers Beat Visiting Gamecocks, 7-3 | The Clemson Tigers downed the South Carolina Gamecocks, 7-3, at Magistrates Ballpark. Andy Leventhal led the way, going 2-for-3 for Clemson. Jesse Bowen picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-1. He struck out 5 in 5.2 innings. South Carolina is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Mark Hutchinson. For the game, Hutchinson went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Clemson a 5-3 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Leventhal said after the game.
