| Gators Prevail, 6-4, Over Kansas | The Florida Gators picked up a win at Ballpark of Bismarck College, knocking off the Kansas Jayhawks, 6-4. Starting pitcher Jeff Brady was an essential part of his team's success. In 6 innings, Brady surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Gators bumped their record to 15-11 with this latest triumph.
The Gators got a big at-bat from catcher Jim Robinson. For the game, Robinson was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Florida a 2-1 lead.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Brady. "Successful pitchers do it."
