| Golden Bears Come Back Late to Top Bulldogs | The California Golden Bears had to overcome a big game from Fresno State designated hitter Frank Reynoso to leave Prisoners Ballpark with a 5-4 victory. Reynoso was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. The 8th-place Golden Bears are now 13-11, the Bulldogs 16-8.
The Golden Bears got a big at-bat from third baseman Erik Ruby. For the game, Ruby went 1-5. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave California a 5-4 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Ruby, "and today was a good one for us."
