| Victory Over Black Knights Takes Portland to 49-22 | The first-place Portland Beavers picked up another win at Waterfront Park.
The Portland Beavers topped the Brooklyn Black Knights, 9-6, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park. The player of the game was Portland center fielder Zane Mogeni. Portland starter Félix Reina was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-2.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from shortstop Cesar Sandino. For the game, Sandino was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Portland a 4-3 lead.
Mogeni told a Portland Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Portland has now won 4 straight.
