| Bruins Stun Longhorns, 4-1 | UCLA got a strong outing from Dan Alexander as the Bruins defeated the Texas Longhorns, 4-1, at Ballpark of Celebration College. UCLA reliever Dave Perry picked up the win to move to 2-1. Bobby Schroeder suffered the loss. UCLA now sits at 12-12, while Texas falls to 10-14.
The Bruins got a big at-bat from right fielder Ken Stuckless. For the game, Stuckless was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave UCLA a 2-1 lead.
Stuckless called the win "a collective effort."
