Behind a solid performance from shortstop Adam Ashton, the TCU Horned Frogs defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 4-2. Ashton was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Horned Frogs. The Horned Frogs bumped their record to 15-9 with this latest triumph.

Ashton had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Jarrett Robbins, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Horned Frogs a 4-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Ashton.

Ashton told a TCU Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
