| Victory Pushes Buckeyes Record to 12-10 | Getting a good performance from right fielder Mike Abbott, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Iowa State Cyclones, 5-4. Abbott went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Buckeyes. Ohio State reliever Greg Olson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Doug Castro shouldered the loss. Chris Hicks got the save, the 7th for him this season.
The Buckeyes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josh Durst. For the game, Durst was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Ohio State a 5-4 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Durst told the Ohio State Bulletin.
The Buckeyes bumped their record to 12-10 with this latest triumph.
