| Mendez Helps Hornets Run Win Streak to 3 | The Eureka Hornets topped the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 9-3, in Thurman Munson League action at Field de Los Layendas. The player of the game was Eureka center fielder Juan Mendez. Eureka is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from second baseman Justin Duncan. For the game, Duncan was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 21st hit of the season gave Eureka a 4-3 lead.
Mendez told a Eureka Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
