Chancellor Helps Rice Cruise to 10-3 Win

Rice and Louisiana-Layfayette got after it at Field of the Dukes.

Getting a good performance from first baseman Bobby Chancellor, the Rice Owls defeated the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns, 10-3. Chancellor went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Owls. Rice starter I-po Liu was credited with the win after throwing 83 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-0.

Chancellor had a key at-bat for Rice early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and gave Rice an early 2-0 lead.
