Rebels Lose, 8-4, at Suns Ballpark

The inspired effort of Ole Miss shortstop Matt Baum was not enough to prevent a 8-4 loss to the Houston Cougars. Baum was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. Houston reliever David Puckett was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Brad Hawes took the loss. The Cougars bumped their record to 11-10 with this latest triumph.

Marquis Pettway put Houston in front, 3-0, when he took Brad Hawes downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the third. It was his 4th home run of the season.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Pettway.
