| Volunteers Stymie Oklahoma, Take 2-1 Win | The Tennessee Volunteers did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners at Madera College Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Kyle Romine, who captured player of the game honors. The Volunteers bumped their record to 11-10 with this latest triumph.
The Volunteers got a big at-bat from first baseman Felix Anciso. For the game, Anciso went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Tennessee a 2-1 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Volunteers manager Álex Negrón, "I like our chances."
