Late Rally by Cyclones Secures Win

The Iowa State Cyclones finished things off in style today at Forney College Grounds.

A 3-RBI performance from John Daugherty, who is tied for 9th in the SBL in triples with 1, helped the Iowa State Cyclones beat the Indiana State Sycamores, 9-7. Iowa State reliever Chris Schmidt was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Cody Cody took the loss.

Daugherty had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Cody Cody, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cyclones a 9-7 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Daugherty.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Daugherty.

Iowa State is now 8-13, while Indiana State is 13-8.
