| Sooners Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hurricanes | Oklahoma Sooners starter Kyle Gamber was in fine form against the Miami Hurricanes at Gremlins Ballpark, leading his team to a 7-4 win. Oklahoma is now 9-10, while Miami is 9-10.
The Sooners got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jonathan Normand. For the game, Normand was 1 for 3 with 3 walks. In the top of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Oklahoma a 5-4 lead.
"Kyle was pounding the zone," said Oklahoma manager Steve Oliver.
