Titans Score Late to Upend Tigers, 5-4

The Cal State Fullerton Titans topped the LSU Tigers, 5-4, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Hartford College Grounds. The player of the game was Cal State Fullerton first baseman Jimmy Patton. Jon Standifer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Ben Hammond was tagged with the loss. The Tigers, at 6-12, have lost 4 in a row.

Patton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 cutter from Ben Hammond, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Titans a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Patton.
