| Sun Devils Continue Skid Thanks to Crawford, Aggies | Texas A&M first baseman Mike Crawford played a vital role in his team's 6-5 triumph over Arizona State. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Texas A&M. Texas A&M reliever Todd Fox picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Lampe was saddled with the loss. Matt Ratliff, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Crawford had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Chris Lampe, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Aggies a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Crawford.
Crawford expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Arizona State has now lost 4 consecutive games.
