| Cardinals Roll to 8-3 Win Over Ragin Cajuns | Stanford catcher Doug Sheldon played a vital role in his team's 8-3 triumph over Louisiana-Layfayette. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Stanford. Even with the win, the Cardinals have a dismal 6-12 record.
Sheldon had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Nick Walczak, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Cardinals a 5-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Sheldon.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Sheldon told the Stanford Observer.
