| Sycamores Turn Back Vanderbilt, 6-5 | The Indiana State Sycamores topped the Vanderbilt Commodores, 6-5, in Skip Bertman League action at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The player of the game was Indiana State pitcher Josh Roy. Cody Cody, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The Sycamores have an impressive 11-7 record.
Steve Holeman aided the Indiana State cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Indiana State manager Chris Dunn.
