Longhorns Turn Back Cal State Fullerton, 7-6

The Texas Longhorns eked out a 7-6 win versus the Cal State Fullerton Titans at Ballpark of Celebration College. Nobody did more than left fielder Jayden Crayton, who captured player of the game honors. Texas reliever Shane Smoller picked up the win to move to 1-1. Josh Tierney suffered the loss. Texas occupies 17th place in the Cliff Gustafson at 7-10.

Crayton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 slider from Josh Tierney, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Longhorns a 7-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Crayton.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Cal State Fullerton manager Totoya Sakei. "The effort was great."
