| Longhorns Win at Ole Miss, 5-3 | The Ole Miss Rebels got a sterling performance from first baseman Chase Gainey, but the Longhorns still prevailed, 5-3. Gainey was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Texas reliever Hector Rocha picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Jason Lynch was collared with the loss. Bobby Schroeder was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.
Brad Berger, who is rated as the 46th best prospect by BNN, aided the Texas cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4 with a walk.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Berger.
The Longhorns' win now puts them at 6-10.
