The Rice Owls downed the Long Beach State 49'ers, 11-4, at Ballpark of Macclenny College. The Owls were led by Bobby Chancellor, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Rice reliever Steve Ayers picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Marc Dile was collared with the loss. This win makes it 5 in a row for Rice.
