| Multi-HR Day for Crayton as Longhorns Overpower 49'ers, 7-5 | Getting a good performance from left fielder Jayden Crayton, the Texas Longhorns defeated the Long Beach State 49'ers, 7-5. Crayton went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Longhorns. Bobby Schroeder earned the save, his 3rd, for the Longhorns. The 18th-place Longhorns now have a win-loss record of 5-8.
Crayton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Jonathan Knight, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Longhorns a 5-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Crayton.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Crayton. "I just want to win ballgames."
