| Black Knights Trip Rhinos in Extras | Blue Ivy Stadium was rocking after an exciting Black Knights win today.
The Brooklyn Black Knights faced a tough opponent in Rubber City pitcher Mike Sapienza, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blue Ivy Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Sapienza went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Brooklyn reliever Ji-hwan Yea, now 7-2. The loser was Dylan Butlin.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Brett Gardner, hit a single. It helped Brooklyn seize the win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Gardner said.
The Black Knights, at 33-37, sit in third place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
