| Tight Tilt Goes to Green Wave, 2-1 | Ole Miss got a terrific performance from left fielder Matt Baum, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane won the Ballpark of Wrightsville College contest, 2-1. Baum was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. Tulane reliever Jeremy Rossow got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Josh Austin was tagged with the loss. The current losing streak for Ole Miss has reached 7 games.
The Green Wave got a big at-bat from center fielder Tim Houk. For the game, Houk was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Tulane a 2-1 lead.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Tom Starr. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
