| Main Slugs Jayhawks to 11-5 Win | It was a good time at Brutes Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Vanderbilt Commodores and Kansas Jayhawks get after it.
Eric Main left his imprint on the 11-5 Kansas win against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Main, who leads the SBL in total bases with 51, belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Kansas reliever Jeffrey Kanter got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Ray Bilski was tagged with the loss. The save was credited to Tim Jordan, his 1st.
Chris Saipe, who is tied for 8th in the SBL in home runs with 5, chipped in for Kansas with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Saipe, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Jayhawks bumped their record to 6-6 with this latest triumph.
