| Gamecocks Get Road Win, 6-1 | Spirited fans at Biglerville College Fields greeted the Oklahoma Sooners for their clash with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Oklahoma had no answer for South Carolina Gamecocks hurler Matthew Inmon, who overwhelmed Sooners hitters as the Gamecocks coasted to a 6-1 victory. Inmon, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks.
Joe Jones aided the South Carolina cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"It's good to win," Jones told the South Carolina Times. "I like to have fun doing it."
Even with the win, the Gamecocks have a dismal 4-8 record.
